“You Can Discover More About a Person in an Hour of Play than in a Year of Conversation”

SOMA is a London based artist who paints abstract and expressive compositions consisting of scribbles, shapes and gestural marks. Qualified as a play therapist working with children, his paintings are heavily process driven and influenced by years of observing children utilise mark-making and creativity to make sense of the world.

Seeing the value of art as a form of self-expression, SOMA plays with materials and styles continually seeking to tell stories about complex philosophical, social and therapeutic themes. Much like the process of a play therapy intervention, his work aims to explore these themes through fun, colourful and playful expression.
